Today, he’s a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, husband, and father of five but his path wasn’t always clear. Coming to PWA at 13, Michael found the guidance, care, and mentorship he never had before.
Rick Hobbs helps young men at Pierceton Woods gain confidence, explore opportunities, and build life skills, creating a full-circle moment by giving them support he wished he’d had.
For several years, basketball was the only game in town at Pierceton Woods Academy. But it quickly became apparent that the boys who played basketball showed a marked improvement in behavior—and that it might be worth adding additional extracurricular sports to capitalize on the opportunities provided by athletics.
